About

Technology with abusiness mindset.

I'm Alexandre Medeiros, a software engineer. For over 20 years I've been turning ideas into products people can use without a manual.

Specialities

  • Web interfaces

React and TypeScript in products people use daily, from the first component to the screen that holds up under real data.

  • Mobile apps

React Native for both platforms, paying attention to what differs between them instead of settling for a common denominator.

  • Back-end and APIs

Node.js, PHP and Laravel over MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, with REST or GraphQL depending on what the case calls for.

  • Integrations

Connecting systems that were never meant to talk to each other, including data migration and third-party services.

How I work

  • I understand before I code

I start with the problem and the people who will use it. A misread scope costs more than badly written code.

  • I ship in usable pieces

I'd rather deliver parts that already work than one big launch at the end, because it lets us correct course early.

  • Remote, with written communication

Decisions on record, context in writing and agreed availability — what makes distributed teams actually work.

  • I stay after delivery

Software keeps living after launch. Maintenance and evolution are part of the work, not an add-on.

Background

I started out writing HTML and CSS and watched the web change around me: from static sites to full applications, and then to products that live on phones too. That path is why I move between front-end, back-end and mobile without treating any of them as foreign ground.

I've worked on products in healthcare, retail and e-commerce, payments and data intelligence. I moved from individual contributor to leading engineering and front-end teams, and mentored younger developers along the way.

I've worked remotely for a decade, much of it with teams and clients in the United States, which made English part of the daily routine rather than a line on a résumé.

Recent experience

The last ten years, most recent first. Employers are described by the kind of operation they run.

  1. 2026 — present

    Senior mobile engineer

    International healthtech

I build the client for a healthcare AI agent, with voice interaction, file and clinical-data submission, and a handoff path to human support. I led the iOS migration and adapted the entire existing codebase to run across mobile environments. The product went from a single-audience tablet pilot to a general-purpose application.

React Native · TypeScript · Kotlin · Swift

  2. 2024 — 2026

    Senior full-stack engineer

    Biotech company, international

Hired to migrate the internal back-office platform, I ended up owning the integration of external partner systems. I migrated over 2 TB of data and built the SOAP service and daily ingestion routine that kept partner data flowing after the migration.

    Node.js · TypeScript · Go · PostgreSQL · AWS · REST · SOAP

  3. 2020 — 2024

    Senior frontend engineer

    International engineering consultancy

Four years serving three clients in the United States: a healthcare platform, a corporate sustainability platform and a fashion e-commerce store. I went from React developer to front-end team lead, rebuilding a legacy platform from scratch while the previous version stayed live.

    React · TypeScript · Node.js · GraphQL · Remix · AWS Lambda · GCP

  4. 2019 — 2021

    BI analyst and developer

    Analytics intelligence consultancy

Dashboards consolidating online and offline sources collected by data-mining robots. I identified the BI tool as the product's bottleneck and built a custom dashboard platform from scratch, giving clients real-time access to their own data. Part-time from mid-2020.

    Next.js · Node.js · React · MongoDB · Python · GCP

  5. 2016 — 2019

Senior full-stack engineer → Head of engineering

    Digital strategy agency

Promoted from senior engineer to leading the whole engineering team, later heading the front-end and mobile teams and mentoring the developers. I started an accreditation platform for a card-terminal fintech, covering client acquisition, accreditation and partner logistics.

    JavaScript · React · React Native · PHP · Laravel · MySQL · Redis

Education and languages

  • 2025 — 2027

Technologist in Systems Analysis and Development

UNIPÊ — Centro Universitário de João Pessoa

In progress. Software development, systems analysis and databases.

  • Languages

Native Portuguese and advanced English, with six years of daily written and spoken work with teams and clients in the United States.
